The European Union Delegation to Yemen and Jordan’s Royal Film Commission screened in Amman on Wednesday a Yemeni film called “Ten Days Before the Wedding”
In a press release the Press and information team of the EU Delegation to YEMEN EU de, reaffirmed EU support for Yemen’s cultural and creative industries and helping local stories reach new audiences.
The film narrates the story of a young couple from Aden city counting down to their wedding, when they face obstacles spawned by the aftermath of the 2015 Yemen war, testing love against the shadows of conflict.
Film producer Mohsen Alkhalifi engaged in a lively discussion with the audience following the screening.
In 2019, the film won five awards, including the Jury Prize at the Aswan Film Festival (Egypt) and the Audience Award at the Arab Film Festival in Amman, Jordan.
It was also nominated for five other international awards, and it was submitted to compete in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards that same year.
