Yemen has been ranked the most dangerous country in the world for 2025, according to a comprehensive analysis published by the World Population Review and supported by findings from Human Rights Watch and other global agencies.

The report cites Yemen’s prolonged civil war, widespread humanitarian crisis, and deteriorating infrastructure as key factors behind its alarming status.

The conflict, which escalated in 2015, has led to the collapse of public services, rampant food insecurity, and the displacement of millions.

As of early 2025, over 18 million people require humanitarian assistance, with cholera outbreaks and famine compounding the crisis.

The World Population Review notes that Yemen now surpasses countries like Afghanistan, Syria, and Ukraine in terms of overall risk to civilians and foreign nationals.

Arbitrary detentions, torture, and enforced disappearances have also surged, with dozens of UN and NGO staff reportedly missing since May.

With no diplomatic solution in sight and limited humanitarian access, international actors are being urged to act swiftly to address the worsening crisis and prevent further regional destabilization. The people of Yemen continue to suffer in what analysts are calling one of the gravest humanitarian emergencies of our time.
