As of early 2025, over 18 million people require humanitarian assistance, with cholera outbreaks and famine compounding the crisis.
The World Population Review notes that Yemen now surpasses countries like Afghanistan, Syria, and Ukraine in terms of overall risk to civilians and foreign nationals.
Arbitrary detentions, torture, and enforced disappearances have also surged, with dozens of UN and NGO staff reportedly missing since May.
With no diplomatic solution in sight and limited humanitarian access, international actors are being urged to act swiftly to address the worsening crisis and prevent further regional destabilization.
